Miguel Ortega

Miguel Ortega

Director, Spy Films

Miguel is a thorough hands-on practitioner of film making. He thrives by immersing himself in the creation of storyboards, concept designs, miniature sets, practical effects, and cinematography.

He enjoys directly executing the process to create fully realized CG environments, creatures, and universes. Miguel has worked on characters in films such as AVATAR, Thor, Jack the Giant Slayer, and The Last Airbender. He directed "The Green Ruby Pumpkin," which landed him a spot at Spy Films as a commercial director.

Blake Sweeney

Blake Sweeney

CG Supervisor, Method Studios

Blake Sweeney is an accomplished CG Supervisor at Method Studios in Los Angeles and has worked on VFX heavy features such as Iron Man 3, Cloud Atlas and Oz: The Great and Powerful. Most recently, he produced CGI for the action packed political drama White House Down (nominated for a Visual Effects Society Award) and the futuristic thriller Divergent.

Blake also enjoys the opportunity of working on high end commercials and this year helped in the production of the Kia 'Hotbots' ad which aired during the Super Bowl.

Peter Mitev

Peter Mitev

CEO, Chaos Group

Peter Mitev is CEO and co-founder of Chaos Group, the company behind one of the most successful products for 3D visualization, V-Ray.

In 1997, the company started as a studio for ​​3D and animation services. During that time, Peter was also a student at Sofia University where he met his future business partner, Vladimir Koylazov. In 1999 they developed their first product, PhoenixFD, which is used for fluid simulation. Three years later, the first version of V-Ray for 3ds Max was released and Chaos Group has become a global leader in providing innovative software solutions for various industries including entertainment, architecture and design.

Today, Chaos Group has offices in Bulgaria, USA, Japan and Korea; a network of 250 distributors worldwide and currently employs over 100 people.


Konstantin Gaytandzhiev

Konstantin Gaytandzhiev

V-Ray Master Trainer, Chaos Group

Konstantin joined Chaos Group in 2010 and is one of the main 3D artists and presenters for the company.

His past experience as a 3D artist at several production studios brought to Chaos Group talent, inspiration and a deep knowledge of the production process. Konstantin demonstrates the magic of V-Ray and Phoenix FD at various events all over the world.



David Tracy

David Tracy

Marketing Communications Director, Chaos Group

David is a 3D industry veteran, havingstarted out as a LightWave artist and teacher. Since 1999 he's worked for such companies as The Foundry, NewTek, Luxology and now Chaos Group. He has a passion for art and technology and is closely involved in promoting artist's and their amazing work.



Andrei Izrantcev

Andrei Izrantcev

V-Ray for Blender Developer, Chaos Group

Before joining Chaos Group, Andrei worked on his personal open-source project for integration of V-Ray with Blender and he developed the Maya plugins VrayScatter and VRayPattern. He joined the company in the beginning of 2013 where he continues to work on and optimize V-Ray for Blender integration. 

He possesses extensive development, 3D modeling and rendering skills. Andrei is a V-Ray Certified Professional.



Sascha Geddert

Sascha Geddert

Student, Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg | Project Globosome

Sascha has had a passion for art since childhood. When he was 11, he started to teach himself all of the 3D fundamental tools that he is still using today. Right after high school, Sascha got his first 3D visualization job at Lichtecht. While at Lichtecht, he heard about the Animation Institute at the Filmakademie and started the program there in 2005.

This is where the idea for Globosome was born, later to become his graduation project and the trailer of FMX 2012.

Timm Wagener

Timm Wagener

Student, Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg | Project Rugbybugs

Timm is a Pipeline, Lighting/Shading and Rigging TD with a background as a 3D generalist. He is currently enrolled in the Technical Direction program at the Institute of Animation, Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.

His main areas of expertise are front-end pipeline programming with Python, rigging in Maya, and lighting, shading and rendering with V-Ray.

Manuel Seifert

Manuel Seifert

Student, Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg | Project Rugbybugs

Manuel is a graduate of Hochschule der Medien where he studied Computer Science and Media. While there he did an internship at Luxx Studios and later started a career as a 3D generalist. Manuel is currently enrolled in the Technical Direction program at the Institute of Animation, Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.

He is focused on lighting, shading and rendering and is keen on shader writing.

David Calvet

David Calvet

Graduate, Supinfocom Arles | Project Bet She'an

David has always been turned on by science and art. After studying physics and math at university, Calvet moved on to art at Supinfocom where he graduated in 2012.

He mainly works in Technical Direction, Rendering and Lighting.

Together with Director Bastien Letoile and Art Director Julien Soler, Calvet recently created the BANDITS collective. At the moment they are working in advertising in London and Paris.

Graduate, Supinfocom Arles | Project Bet She'an

After a childhood spent on drawing, Bastien began studying for 3 years in an art school in France, followed by a year in Brussels learning the basics of 2D animation. He went to Supinfocom Arles for 3 years where he found interest in Direction and finally graduated in 2012.

He mainly works in Direction, Storyboard, Environment Design and 2D/3D animation

Julien Soler

Julien Soler

Graduate, Supinfocom Arles | Project Bet She'an

Julien has always been interested in art, drawing and painting since childhood. After some trade school and various jobs, he kept painting and decided to pursue 3D animation. He attended Supinfocom to feed his interest and has discovered the multiple opportunities that a knowledge of 3D offers.
